About Me

indietrekker
Indietrekker was created on the premise that traveling is what happens when you look up from the guidebook. Locals, side streets, and the rhythm of everyday life characterize a place much more than major monuments and attractions. There is no ambitious goal to visit X number of countries in X number of days, or to go this many miles on pure leg power. The only aim is to visit places near and far, and record whatever and whomever we stumble upon. So, trek along and enjoy the journey!

Oregon Sun, Snow, and Waterfalls
Watch
Producer: indietrekker
Yes, the sun does come out in Oregon. Once in a while. Taking advantage of the good weather, we took the top down in our rented convertible (that has good gas mileage!) This video was shot in the Willamette National Forest, where we drove from Cougar Hot Springs up, up, up to the snowy Santiam Overpass and Sahali Falls.

Tai O: Houses on Stilts in Hong Kong
Watch
Producer: indietrekker
Think Hong Kong is all skyscrapers and crowded streets? On the southwestern coast of Lantau, one of Hong Kong's outlying islands is a fishing village called Tai-O. It's one of the last remaining fishing villages with stilt houses built hundreds of years ago. We take a boat ride around these houses built on water, get lost on the "boardwalk", and eat spicy prawns with an off-color Chinese name. Lion Dance - Chinese New Year in Boston
Watch
Producer: indietrekker
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, a Lion Dance troupe makes the rounds in Boston's Chinatown, hitting every dim sum restaurant. Boston's Chinatown is smaller than New York's and San Francisco's, but never fails to deliver this yearly tradition. This short video was shot at Hei La Moon at 88 Beach Street in Boston.
